Wygram Nursing Home, opening in Spring 2015 to create more than 60 jobs in Wexford town.

Wygram Nursing Home, a state of the art residence designed to maximise its unique position with stunning views of Wexford Harbour will open in Spring 2015 with the creation of more than 60 jobs in Wexford town. The 60 job openings will be spread across the nursing, caring, catering, administrative and maintenance roles. The €6.5million project is located between Upper John Street and Davitt Road.

The layout, which was designed by Mahon & Fox, will be over three floors. The cleverly designed building will have bedrooms arranged around a central core, the majority of which will have views over Wexford town and harbour. A feature of the Nursing Home will be Davitt House, a major focal point as you enter the nursing home grounds; this building is designed as a separate community area where events can take place i.e. coffee mornings, bridge, local community events etc.

Joe Fox, of architects Mahon and Fox said: ‘The location of the home, close to the town centre, is a significant advantage as it allows residents from town to remain in their own community close to their friends and relations.”

The 71-bed facility in Wexford town will offer long-term care, short-term care, respite, convalescent care and palliative care. Other care services at Wygram will include nursing care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, chiropody and health and beauty services.

James White, of Wygram Nursing Home said: “The company’s ultimate goal is to provide a residential care setting that reflects the needs and requirements of each individual resident and provides quality care in a friendly and inclusive environment. It is our desire that residents live a full independent and active life, and are afforded the utmost respect and dignity from our staff.”
